Are the blankets new or used? If they're new, it might be worth givving them a good wash to shrink them a bit before cutting out. It will basically 'felt' them a bit making a thicker blanket that...

Dayum!Thanks for the link.....Was thinking army blanets would do well as a blending-in color, maybe enen trying some kind of tie-dye with walnut hulls or something, maybe dye with the grass clippings...
